» Powercolor HD5770 Vortex 1GB Review
Jul 30, 2010 - 4:24 PM - by Mac Daddy
If you have been following the news and reviews lately you will have assuredly seen mention of nVidia’s stellar new ‘mass market’ Fermi card the GTX460 – KitGuru reviewed the overclocked eVGA version and it walked away with very high praise indeed. While it is capable of delivering a fantastic gaming experience it only costs around £175 and the upside of this is that ATI have been forced to reduce some of their own prices to help keep the market competitive.

This means that if you are in the market for a new graphics card and can’t stretch to the GTX460 asking price then the card on review today might very well tickle your tastebuds. With the reference HD5770 on offer now for £130, there has never been a more affordable time to get into DX11 gaming.

» YouTube Now Supports 15 Minutes of Fame
Jul 30, 2010 - 10:52 AM - by Mac Daddy
User-made YouTube videos have been limited to 10 minutes almost since the beginning, but now YouTube is ready to give people 15 minutes per video instead.

YouTube says its Content ID system makes the extra five minutes possible. With all major movie studios and music labels using Content ID to sniff out copyrighted material, and the technology improved enough, YouTube can afford to relax the upload limit, which was introduced to keep pirated television shows and movies off the site. Content partners, such as CBS, have always been able to upload longer videos, including full-length television shows and feature films.

Acknowledging Apple's early success with the iPad, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer insisted Thursday that the software maker is hard at work on Windows-based tablets.

"They'll be shipping as soon as they are ready," Ballmer said, offering few details on the products, which he said will come from partners, not Microsoft itself. "It is job one urgency. No one is sleeping at the switch." Speaking to financial analysts, Ballmer said the goal is "not just to deliver products, but to deliver products that people want to buy."
