NZXT Zero2 Review

Removing a Rear Fan for CoolIT Domino A.L.C. CPU Cooler Installation

Upon careful consideration and advice from our good friend Steve Ruxton “Chaos” we will be using this liquid cooling solution from CoolIT systems as we feel it won’t hinder the case airflow or performance of the Zero2 case. In fact we feel this will showcase the Domino as the Zero2 includes 2 x 120mm rear exhaust fans and a perfect application for this cooling solution!

Optical and Hard Drive Installation

The optical drive installation is quite a departure from the Tempest and Whisper cases from NZXT. After we remove the front panel of the case we have to fatigue and break off the steel knockout for the drive we wish to install. The brackets and actual optical drive installation is quite simple and pictured below.

The hard drives just need the brackets and no physical labour!!

Motherboard Installation

This is also straight forward just install the I/O backing plate for the motherboard and fasten the board into place using the supplied machine screws. Everything including the Domino A.L.C. cooler was preinstalled to make the installation simpler. One the motherboard is secure we fasten the Radiator Module for the Domino into the empty fan location more information on installing this cooler can be seen on our review HERE

Wiring

We have all done this before so no point going into great detail on this. As we mentioned this case does not use the cable management system both the Tempest and Whisper cases used from NZXT, but since this case utilizes a top mounted PSU it wasn’t needed as much. We will show more wiring when we show the Zero2 case “fully loaded”!
